Optimization of energy functional in abstract spline interpolation: Criteria and some results for splines with tension (English)

Some variational spline interpolation problems are considered. The energy functionals of these problems depend on parameters. Several criteria of the optimal choice of the parameter are formulated. For abstract splines with tension, a formula is presented which demonstrates the structure of dependence of splines with respect to tension parameters. This formula was obtained by \textit{V. A. Vasilenko} and \textit{A. V. Elyseev} [Sib. Zh. Vychisl. Mat. 1, No. 4, 301-311 (1998; Zbl 0916.65004)]. It makes it possible to clarify the structure of various aim functions.
