Designing a production line through optimisation of M/G/\(c^*\) using simulation (English)
0 references
The paper starts from an application of queueing theory and optimization: How to redesign a manufacturing process in a car manufacturing company of Iran. The model used is a multiserver queue with heterogeneous servers, Poisson arrival stream and general service times. Decision is made on the basis of the expected steady state service and waiting costs per time unit under a constraint on the number of servers. The necessary parametric performance evaluation is done by simulation.
