Existence of positive solutions for nonlinear differential equations (English)
0 references
The existence of at least one positive solution to a two-point boundary value problem for a second-order ordinary differential equation is proved. The boundary conditions are characterized by means of nonlinear, increasing, odd functions. A Krasnosel'skij-type fixed-point theorem in a cone is applied for this aim jointly with some convexity arguments. So, additional information concerning the location of solutions can be obtained.
