The authors consider the dynamics of an overdamped Brownian particle in an asymmetric double-well potential in the presence of external time-periodic field. The method of moments is used to obtain numerically the first three susceptibilities of the system. Further they are compared with the approximations derived from the Fokker-Planck equation and the {high-frequency} approximation. The dependence of the spectral amplification of the first harmonics on the noise intensity is investigated and {stochastic resonance}-like behaviour is observed.
