On entropy conditions of high resolution schemes for scalar conservation laws (English)

The paper is revisiting the work of \textit{S. Osher} and \textit{E. Tadmor} [Math. Comput. 50, No. 181, 19-51 (1988; Zbl 0637.65091)] on the cell entropy inequalities for second order total-variation diminishing schemes. A more direct method of proof is proposed, which avoids the use of nonsmooth modified numerical fluxes and yields better estimates of the entropy production, the authors say.
