    The authors consider the initial-value problem for a nonlinear Volterra integro-differential equation, which plays an important role in the mathematical modeling of various physical and biological phenomena.NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEThe purpose of this paper is to show that Richardson extrapolation can be used to enhance the numerical solution generated by Petrov-Galerkin finite element method. Moreover, a-posteriori error estimates are given and two numerical examples are presented.
