The authors gave here a rigorous justification of a statement of \textit{O. Tammi} [Extremum problems for bounded univalent functions. II. (1982; Zbl 0481.30020), p. 90] concerning support points of the functional \({\mathfrak R}e \{a_3+ \lambda a_2\}\), \(\lambda\in\mathbb{C}\), over the class \(S\). In the process they disproved E. Bombieri's conjecture [\textit{E. Bombieri} [Invent. Math. 4, 26-67 (1967; Zbl 0174.12301)].
