\textit{J. Belasová}, \textit{J. Ewert} and \textit{T. Šalát} [Bull. Math. Soc. Sci. Math. Roum., Nouv. Sér. 33(81), No. 1, 3-8 (1989; Zbl 0696.40002)] studied the effectiveness of the D'Alembert, Cauchy and Raabe tests from the point of view of Baire categories. The author extends this investigation to a comparison test and obtains some general results (for series in Banach spaces) from which the results of [op. cit.] can be deduced as corollaries.
