The author considers symmetric spaces \(N=G/H\) Cartan embedded into \(G\) (complex semi-simple). For immersed surfaces in \(N\) he defines a Gauss map with values in the projectivized Lie algebra of \(G\). Surfaces with holomorphic Gauss map generalize CMC-1 surfaces in hyperbolic 3-space, and several of their properties are studied to support that analogy.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0960.00049].
