A sheaf-theoretic view of loop spaces (English)

In stable homotopy theory one encounters various categories of spectra (symmetric spectra, coordinate-free spectra, orthogonal spectra, also for \(G\)-spaces), The author modifies and applies the theory of Grothendieck topologies, known from category theory as well as algebraic geometry, as well as the deduced concepts of sieves, a basis, presheaves and sheaves to interpret a category of spectra within this framwork as a category of sheaves. In a final section the closed model structures on the categories of spectra are recorded.
