The authors present an elementary proof of Rokhlin's lemma for measurable endomorphisms of separable spaces which are periodic with respect to an invariant Borel probability measure. They explicitly describe how to construct Rokhlin sets for dynamical systems which are semi-conjugate to any full shift.
