Determination of stress and strain concentration factors under cyclic loading of viscoplastic bodies (English)
0 references
The concentration of stresses and strains in a viscoplastic cylindrical specimen with a V-shaped side groove under harmonic kinematic loading is studied. The viscoelastic behavior of material is modeled by one of the generalized flow theories, the Bodner-Partom model. At the ends of a cylinder, time-harmonic axial displacements are prescribed and the tangential stresses vanish. The lateral surface of cylinder is stress-free. The formulated problem is solved numerically using finite elements. Plots of time history of concentration factors, of calculated factors as functions of cycle number and of the same factors as functions of the loading parameter are presented. The obtained results can be used as an integral characteristics of the phenomenon of concentration during the cycle and for study of low-cycle material fatigue.
