Pulse interaction with inhomogeneous medium (Q2753507)

A general two-dimensional problem of elastodynamics for inhomogeneous medium is modelled numerically. Specific features of formulation and solution of stress concentration problems in inhomogeneous solids are revealed and analyzed. On the basis of the S.K.Godunov method, a technique of solution of stress concentration problems under different kinds of loadings and without constrains concerning the character of inhomogenuity, is realized. Some computation aspects of the grid-characteristics method, related to accuracy and computer realization, are studied. On the basis of analysis of numerical results, some most general features of stress distribution and stress concentration in a perforated plate are discussed.
