The author, in the present expository article, has tried to present recent developments in nonlinear analysis and geometry involving generalized functions. Examples have been provided of distributional solutions of nonlinear field equations and Lie group transformations of generalized functions. The Colombeau construction of generalized functions has been employed. [\textit{J. F.
