A dynamical system approach to self-organized criticality (English)
0 references
We introduce a dynamical system approach to treat self-organized criticality and apply it to the Zhang's model [\textit{H. Y. Zhang}, Scaling theory of self-organized criticality, Phys. Rev. Let. 63, 470-473 (1988)]. In this setting, we pose several questions concerning ergodicity, criticality of the invariant state (SOC) genericity of the SOC behaviour, and partially solve them [see also the authors, J. Stat. Phys. 88, 307-318 (1997; Zbl 0918.58041) and J. Stat. Phys. 98, 375-404 (2000; Zbl 0991.82024)].NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0926.00032].
