Asymptotic freedom in curvature-saturated gravity (English)
0 references
The authors study spatially flat Friedmann solutions in fourth-order gravity where the Lagrangian \(L=L(R)\) is assumed to depend only on the scalar curvature \(R\). The so-called curvature time \(a\) is taken as the time coordinate. The field equations reduce to only one second-order equation for one function \(B=B(a)\). The authors discuss several physically relevant cases where the equation of motion can be solved in closed form. They also turn attention to the asymptotic freedom of the curvature-saturated model proposed by \textit{H. Kleinert} and \textit{H.-J. Schmidt} [Gen. Relativ. Gravitation 34, 1295-1318 (2002)].NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0967.00114].
