Gliding of a plate with finite aspect ratio on the free surface of compressible fluid (English)
0 references
Gliding on the surface of incompressible fluid was well studied in literature. In the paper, the gliding phenomenon for a compressible fluid is investigated. Regimes of motion with different speeds are considered for the cases when the nose shock is either attached or detached. For small attack angles, numerical results display agreement with known theoretical and experimental results. The obtained results enable one to determine hydrodynamic characteristics of gliding plates of finite length for Mach numbers \(M \leq 1.5\) and can be used for design of high-speed vessels and other technical objects interacting with free surface of fluid.
