On control of residual displacements in a hollow cylinder under thermoplastic deformation (English)

The formulation of the problem includes equations of quasistatic equilibrium and equations of heat conduction with boundary and initial conditions. Thermoviscoplastic behavior of material is described by Bodner-Partom model. Thermoplastic deformation is caused by an internal ring-shaped heat source moving along the cylinder axis at some velocity. Next to the source there is a front of abrupt cooling moving with the same velocity. The problem of determination of either heat source intensity under its constant velocity or the velocity under constant heat intensity distribution is solved by the finite element method. A numerical example is considered.
