Conditions for balancing a rotor by an absolutely rigid body with fixed point on the axis of the shaft (English)
0 references
It is suggested to balance a rotor by a rigid body attached to its axis. Euler equations of motion of rigid body in steady-state cases provide conditions for determining moments of inertia of bodies, that can be used to balance the rotor. Usage of particular cases (two mathematical pendulums with perpendicular axes, two rods, semisphere, solid semisphere etc.) for balancing rotor is considered. It is demonstrated that under some consitions, a body with a fixed point can effectively balance the rotor in a certain plane of correction.
