Estimates for intraoperational choice and control of modes of interstitial thermotherapy of brain tumors (English)

Thermal response of tissues to the short-term local thermal influence is considered on the basis of classic theory of heat conduction. First, an exact solution of the one-dimensional heat equation is obtained. A more realistic model includes integration of heat equations in a two-layered domain. Its solution is found using the Laplace transform. The inverse transform is found asymptotically. The influence of biological parameters on the temperature as a function of time is studied. Based on the suggested model, a technique of realization of a thermotherapy session is offered and possible application of the suggested model in photodynamic therapy is outlined.
