Study of post-buckling behavior of plates loaded in their plane by using the R-function method (English)
0 references
For investigation of post-buckling behavior of plates, the theory of flexible plates, taking into account both stresses in the middle plane and bending stresses, is used. The governing system of equations consists of a fourth-order partial differential equation for the transverse displacement and two second-order equations for displacements in the middle plane, completed by corresponding boundary conditions. Linearization of the nonlinear system of equations is done by the iterative technique of successive approximations. Variational formulation of the latter problem is reduced to minimization of some functional. The sequence of coordinate functions is constructed by the R-function method. Examples of application of the proposed approach are discussed.
