Simulation of acoustic field of a blood vessel in the presence of thickening of its wall (English)

The title problem is described by a fourth-order equation of vessel vibrations and by two-dimensional wave equation in cylindrical coordinates, together with a model of turbulent pressure on the vessel wall. The author obtains a relationship between the spectrum of acceleration power and vessel and flow parameters. It is found that increase in the thickness of vessel wall results in the growth of acoustic field, and generates new frequency components in the power spectrum. The author shows that the power of acoustic radiation of the vessel is approximately proportional to the fourth power of Reynolds number and to the eighth power of the ratio of diameters of normal and thickened vessel. Finally, a numerical example is discussed.
