Edge effects in the vicinity of a horizontal excavation weakened by a geological crack (English)
0 references
A rock massif and the material filling the cracks are modelled as linearly elastic isotropic solids, and the plane strain problem is considered. The authors assume that a uniform two-axial stress state is realized in an undamaged massif. Some criterion of extension of edge effect zone is formulated, and the corresponding mixed boundary value problem is solved numerically by a finite difference method combined with the method of conjugate gradients. A numerical example is considered, and boundaries of the edge zone are obtained.
