Norming operators for generalized domains of semistable attraction (English)

It is shown that the norming operators of a probability measure on \(R^d\) belonging to the generalized domain of semistable attraction of a full operator semistable law can be embedded into a regularly varying sequence of linear operators. This property is then used to derive stochastic compactness results; these results are closely related to the large deviation principles and the laws of the iterated logarithms derived by the author [Probab. Theory Relat. Fields 116, No. 2, 257-271 (2000; Zbl 0960.60022)].
