On a class of bone cell-based remodeling laws with spatial fading influence of stimuli (English)

To study the title problem, the author uses different influence functions for different functionals selected to represent the stimulus. It is claimed that the fading influence of cells plays the fundamental role for remodeling process and creation of trabecular structure. Such structures were obtained for several adaptation laws based on different influence functions and functionals representing the stimulus. The author compares his results with adaptation laws existing in the literature. His numerical calculations suggest that the spatial fading influence of the cells, possibly, can be combined with biological mechanisms of bone remodeling to propose more sophisticated models.
