From symmetry to supersymmetry (English)
0 references
In a chronological way, the author represents a review about the invention of supersymmetry. First, it is drawn up the important role of symmetries in modern physics and mathematics. Symmetries can help to find the way through a system without really knowing its laws. It enables to formulate these laws in a meaningful way. The idea of a generalization of the concept of symmetries to a structure which is formulated in terms of commutators and anticommutators leads to supersymmetry. Advantages and disadvantages, perspectives and problems concerning the concept of supersymmetry in nuclear physics, in particle theory, in quantum field theory are considered.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0958.00052].
