The authors consider Baskakov-Szász type operators defined for integrable functions on \([0,\infty]\). Estimates concerning the simultaneous approximation by linear combinations of such operators were obtained by \textit{V. Gupta} and \textit{G. S. Srivastava} [Fasc. Math. 27, 29-41 (1997; Zbl 0898.41016)]. This paper contains extensions of those results and new estimates in terms of higher order moduli of continuity.
