The authors prove that for every function \(f: \mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}\) having countably many points of discontinuity there are bilaterally quasicontinuous functions \(g,h: \mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}\) such that \(f= g+h\) and for each point \(x\) at which \(f\) is continuous from the right (left) both the functions \(f,g\) are also continuous from the right (left).
