This paper deals with the variational difference scheme on a non-uniform mesh of the two-point boundary value problem of the form NEWLINE\[NEWLINE\varepsilon^2 y''(x)- p(x) y(x)= f(x),\quad y(0)= y(1)= 0.NEWLINE\]NEWLINE The author uses a Galerkin finite element method with a natural choice of test functions and discusses the nodal error bounds for fixed \(\varepsilon\). A numerical example is presented.
