Paralindelöf subspaces in products of two ordinals (English)

Let \(\rho\) (resp. \(\sigma\)) be an ordinal number considered as the space of ordinal numbers less than \(\rho\) (resp. \(\sigma\)) with the order topology. The authors consider the question whether every paraLindelöf subspace \(X\) of \(\rho \times \sigma\) is paracompact or not. A partial positive answer is given by showing that if \(\sigma = \omega_1 \cdot \omega\) or \(\rho = \sigma < \omega_1 \cdot \omega_1\), then \(X\) is paracompact.
