This paper deals with a general scheme for finding periodic orbits that branch off in grazing bifurcations. The analysis can be applied to systems with one or several degrees of freedom, provided that an impact law is used. The author gives a set of sufficient conditions involving only linear equations and linear inequalities for the existence for a periodic orbit of a given impact pattern.
