The quadratic convergence of a directional Newton method, along gradient and near gradient directions, and in connection to single equations in \(n\) unknowns, is studied. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEThen the results are applied to solve general systems of \(m\) equations in \(n\) unknowns. Advantages and disadvantages of the directional Newton method approach are also discussed on some concrete typical applications.
