The Diophantine equation \(2^{2^n}-1= 2^a+ 2^b+ p^\alpha\) and some other similar ones are resolved. The results are related to earlier papers of Erdős, Schinzel, Sierpiński, Crocker, Selfridge and others. Some remarkable large numerical examples are given in the paper.
