Oscillations of a prismatic rod (English)

A new version of equations for the longitudinal and transverse vibrations of a prismatic bar are obtained. The difference is not only in appearing some additional terms in equations of motion of such a kind as in Timoshenko theory but in the refinement of the boundary conditions and the beam rigidity under the transverse vibrations. Vibrations of the vertical cantilever beam under the horizontal motion of the base from the rest are considered. The results obtained are compared with solutions of the classical theory of bending vibrations of beams.
