Solutions of plane problems of elasticity and thermoelasticity for rectangular domain (English)

General solution of plane problems of elasticity and thermoelasticity for rectangular domain under general boundary conditions in stresses is considered. Special attention is paid to correct formulation and fulfillment of equilibrium conditions. It is concluded that elementary solutions of the plane problem in a rectangular domain can be represented only by linear functions for normal stresses and by quadratic functions for tangential stresses.
