Mechanics of fracture in design of mobile machines (English)

Theoretical and experimental results in mechanics of fracture of constructions of mobile agricultural machines are reviewed. It is proposed to develop criteria of strength estimation and prognosis of resource of structures in such sequence: (i) study of kinetics of crack expansion in full-scale experiments on constructions, e.g., frame longerons; (ii) obtaining analytical dependencies for determination of stress intensity factors of open thin-walled profiles; (iii) development of empiric similarity model for crack resistance characteristics of profiles; (iv) constructing fracture diagrams of full-scale profiles, e.g., frame longerons with concentrators and smooth ones; (v) determination of structure resource by known formulae using characteristic functions of fatigue failure.
