Boundary element analysis of rib-stiffened elastic plates (English)

The paper presents an integral equation formulation for elastostatic deformation problem for eccentrically stiffened plates. In the case of eccentrically stiffened plates, in- and out-of-plane deformations of the stiffened plate are coupled, and the Timoshenko theory of elastically supported plates cannot by directly applied to eccentrically stiffened plates since the centroidal axis does not lie in the middle plane of the plate. The authors overcome this difficulty, and extend the boundary integral formulation to general stiffened plates.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0970.00025].
