Complex integrals in Gauss' time (English)

Although the paper is entitled ``Complex integrals in Gauss' time'' almost all of the paper is devoted to a discussion of Euler's calculations of real integrals with the help of the complex numbers (pages 67-73). Only the last page contains a short information about Gauss' results. Nothing is said about Cauchy's integral theorem and its history. The authors only write that the history of Cauchy's theorem can be found in \textit{A. I. Markushevich}'s book ``An outline of the history of analytical functions'' (in Russian) (1951; Zbl 0045.34602).NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0964.00033].
