Numerical methods for constrained optimization in 2D and 3D biomechanics (English)
0 references
The team of mathematicians and physicians presents results of modern mathematics applied to some problems of orthopaedy. Models of mechanical processes describing static and dynamic loading of hip joints are developed, based on a variational inequality formulation. The authors prove existence theorems and present several preconditioned conjugate gradient algorithms for numerical solution. The numerical results are illustrated by 20 figures and several tables.
