Contact of elastic and rigid wedges with friction (English)

Contact of wedges with different angles is considered. Before loading wedges are in a point contact at their vertices. Applying the Mellin transform the problem of elasticity is reduced to dual integral equations. Using discontinuous integrals containing gamma function, a singular integral equation of the second kind is derived. By the Fourier transform this equation is reduced to the Riemannian boundary-value problem for analytic function. An expression for normal stresses in the contact zone is obtained. It is found that friction eliminates logarithmic singularity observed for stresses in the problem of frictionless contact. Plots of contact stresses are presented.
