Influence of thermal inhomogeneity on deformation of thin circular cylindrical shell (English)
0 references
Two-dimensional deformation of a long cylindrical shell under the action of external temperature is studied. The coefficient of thermal expansion is a function of the angular coordinate. The following kinds of this dependence are considered: (i) \(\alpha_T = \alpha_T^0 [1 + \varepsilon\cos 2\theta]\); (ii) \(\alpha_T\) is prescribed by some piecewise function of \(\theta\). The problem is solved in the framework of the classical shell theory. In the first case an analytic solution is found. In other cases solutions in the form of series or numerical solutions are found. Influence of thermal inhomogeneity on deformation of the shell is studied, plots of circumferential and radial displacements are presented.
