    A model is considered of a crack which is fixed along the boundary and is in equilibrium under the action of an external load. The plate is supposed to have a vertical crack. The equilibrium problem for the plate is formulated as a minimization problem for an energy functional. A formula is obtained for the derivative of energy functional with respect to the length of the crack.
