Scattering of surface waves by the edge of a floating elastic plate (English)

The author studies the diffraction of plane surface waves by a semi-infinite floating plate in a fluid of finite depth. An explicit analytical solution of the problem is obtained using Wiener-Hopf technique, and simple exact formulas are derived for reflection and transmission coefficients. The author also gives asymptotic expressions for these coefficients, and presents some results of numerical calculations using the obtained formulas.
