The emission of a gas jet from conical nozzle (English)
0 references
The authors consider an axisymmetric subsonic emission of a jet of ideal compressible fluid from semi-infinite conical nozzle. It is assumed that external forces are absent and the flow is stationary, barotropic and irrotational. Under some additional assumptions the authors prove that the gas velocity in the jet attains sonic velocity on some plane being perpendicular to the nozzle axis and located at a finite distance from the nozzle edges. The results of numerical calculations are presented for a jet of perfect gas with adiabatic exponent \(\gamma=1.4\).
