    A mechanical system is studied which generalizes the model of a spherical pendulum. The system consists of a carrying solid body (base) rotating around a vertical axis, and a plane pendulum attached to it. The main problem discussed is the control of relative motion of the pendulum by regulating the rotation velocity of the base. The author examines quasioptimal controlled motions of the pendulum for both oscillation and rotation modes.
