The wavelike motion of a multilink system on a horizontal plane (English)
0 references
The author studies multilink systems consisting of \(N\) identical absolutely rigid rods resting on a horizontal plane. The motion (in the presence of dry friction) is realized due to internal control torques applied to the joints. It is shown that the system can move along itself due to a wave traveling along it. This wave is formed by several links. In contrast to a previous result by the author [see the foregoing entry], the forms of motions are slow (quasistatic), and are different from the fast dynamical motion.
