The author analyses the stability of Riemann equilibrium ellipsoids in a class of perturbations satisfying Dirichlet assumptions. In the parametric space of each of two families of Riemann ellipsoids, the author determines explicitly a domain in which almost all equilibrium ellipsoids are unstable.
