The excitation of tsunami by low-frequency nonstationary point and distributed centres of expansion (English)
0 references
The authors propose a model of ocean in which at a depth of 40 km under the elastic bottom a point or a distributed expansion center acts causing the elevation of the bottom. The authors study the dependence of the ocean surface elevation on the oscillatory action of the expansion center. It is established that observable tsunami can be caused only by low-frequency oscillations of the source.
