It is shown that the derivative-interpolating spline functions [e.g. see \textit{G.~Micula, P.~Blaga} and \textit{H.~Akça}, Libertas Math. 16 123-131 (1996; Zbl 0861.65058)] are in fact primitives of interpolating natural spline functions [cf. \textit{T. N. E.~Greville}, Theory Appl. Spline Functions, Proc. advanced Semin. Wisconsin, Madison 1968, 1-35 (1969; Zbl 0215.17601)].
