There is obtained a new proof of the \textit{P.S.~Krishnaprasad} and \textit{C.S.~Berenstein} [Syst. Control Lett. 4, 157-163 (1984; Zbl 0537.93043)], (see also \textit{P.S.~Krishnaprasad} [Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl. 9, 1011-1035 (1985; Zbl 0626.70028)]) stating that the equilibrium state \((0,0,0,0)\) of the rigid body dynamics with a single rotor is nonlinearly stable.
